Magic Circle Theater “The Wiz,” a retelling of the classic adventure of Dorothy in the Land of Oz, set to a lively mix of rock, gospel and soul music. Dental School Summer recess begins at 5 p.m. for Classes of D08 and D09.

August 5
Tufts at Tanglewood The Western Massachusetts Tufts Alliance welcomes the Boston Tufts Alliance, the Connecticut Tufts Alliance, the New York Tufts Alliance and the Vermont Tufts Alliance to join area alumni for a favorite summer tradition. Bring your family, your Tufts friends and a picnic lunch and enjoy the afternoon program of De Raaff, Mendelssohn and Rachmaninoff. The Tufts group will be gathering on the lawn under the Tufts Banner. Wear a Tufts shirt if you have one and don’t forget your chairs and blankets. Enjoy cake at intermission. Cost is $18 for lawn tickets at the door; free for children 12 and under. Matriculation for members of the Class of 2011 in the School of Arts & Sciences and School of Engineering. First-year and transfer students line up on the Academic Quad between Ballou Hall and Goddard Chapel at 1:30 p.m.; ceremony begins at 1:45 p.m. and runs until 3 p.m.
