Education with conscience

Tufts recognized for civic engagement

Tufts University is among nine Massachusetts colleges and universities that will be included in the soon-to-be-published Colleges with a Conscience: 81 Great Schools with Outstanding Community Involvement.

Princeton Review Books is scheduled to release the book in June. The Princeton Review worked with Campus Compact, a coalition of 950 college and university presidents committed to civic engagement in higher education, to select schools that reward community service; support service-learning programs, student activism and students’ voice in governance; and whose students are socially engaged.

Other Massachusetts schools included in the book are Bentley College, Brandeis University, Clark University, Hampshire College, Harvard University, Smith College, the University of Massachusetts and Williams College.
