Osher Foundation awards Tufts $100,000 grant

The Tufts Institute for Lifelong Learning has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the Bernard Osher Foundation of San Francisco, Calif.

The foundation, established in 1977 by Bernard Osher, a businessman and community leader, offers grants of up to $100,000 a year for up to three years to develop or strengthen lifelong learning programs.

The university’s program will now be known as the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Tufts University, joining 60 other Osher institutes from Maine to Hawaii. Upon demonstrated success, the foundation will consider a final endowment of at least $1 million to Tufts.
