Policy allows for paid adoption, paternity leaves
As of June 1, Tufts began offering enhanced adoption and paternity leave benefits to eligible faculty and staff.
Under the new policy, benefits-eligible faculty and staff who are primary caregivers will be allowed to apply up to four weeks of available sick time to adoption and paternity leaves. This paid time off must be taken at the time of the adoption or birth and must be taken consecutively.
Prior to the new policy, time taken off for adoption or paternity leave was unpaid.
