Road race to benefit Somerville Homeless Coalition

President Lawrence S. Bacow and Adele Fleet Bacow invite the Tufts community to join them in running (or walking) in the Somerville Homeless Coalition's 8th annual 5K Road Race on Saturday, October 4, which is Tufts' Homecoming Weekend.

The race, which begins at 9 a.m. in Davis Square, is a fund-raiser to benefit the Somerville Homeless Coalition. Tufts students and other members of the university community have been actively involved in the organization since it began in 1985. The Somerville Homeless Coalition provides a range of services, including emergency shelter, educational services, a food pantry and meal services and comprehensive case management.

The entry fee is $15 for participants in the 3.1-mile run/walk. Participants are also encouraged to raise additional funds to benefit the Somerville Homeless Coalition.

You can register on race day between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. in front of the Davis Square T stop on Holland Street. For more information about the race, go to http://www.somervillehomelesscoalition.org/pages/roadrace.html
