Relay for Life

Walk in Arlington to raise funds for cancer research

You can make a difference in finding a cure for cancer by becoming involved with the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Arlington, Mass., May 9-10.

The Arlington Relay for Life Executive Committee is seeking area residents to become team captains or join a team. Teams raise money by collecting sponsorships and then participate in the relay by keeping a representative on the track throughout the night, walking in 30-minute shifts. Additionally, team members are encouraged to camp out in tents to enjoy local music, along with food, games and the camaraderie of the event. Cancer survivors will begin the relay by walking the first "victory lap" in a celebration of survivorship.

The Relay for Life will be held at Pierce Field from 6 p.m. on Friday, May 9, until noon on Saturday, May 10. Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society's largest signature event as well as the most successful national fund-raiser.
