Researchers investigate ways to lower cholesterol

The Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging (HNRCA) is seeking healthy women, age 50 and older, with high cholesterol for a study to determine if soy protein can reduce blood cholesterol levels.

Study volunteers will receive a $1,560 stipend for completing the six-week dietary study. All meals will be provided and will include foods such as beef tenderloin, chili, sweet and sour chicken, chocolate and bread pudding. The study will require volunteers to visit the HNRCA, 711 Washington St., Boston, three to four times a week to pick up their meals.
