Book party

A&S authors to display newly published works

On February 13, Tufts will show off just a little, hosting a book party to celebrate faculty authors. The office of the dean of the School of Arts & Sciences is sponsoring the yearly gathering to highlight newly published work by faculty members.

Fifty books will be on display, with subject matter ranging from Russian science fiction to Jews in Uganda to women in business. One book, Proactive Parenting, Guiding Your Child from Two to Six (Berkley), was written by most of the members of the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development. Another book, by Jonathan Harris of the Global Development and Environment Institute, has a companion web site for students that will be displayed on a laptop. The University Press of New England, of which Tufts is a member, will have an exhibit.

The party will be from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Coolidge Room at Ballou Hall. All Tufts faculty and graduate students are invited.
