TILR spring classes begin March 15

Registrations are now being taken for the spring classes offered by the Tufts Institute for Learning in Retirement (TILR), a program for "seasoned citizens" based on the simple fact that learning is a lifelong process that is rewarding at every age.

Spring classes begin on March 15 and end on May 13. Some spring study group leaders include Frank C. Colcord Jr., professor of political science emeritus; John DiBiaggio, president emeritus; Bobbie Knable, former dean of students; and Robert Meagher, professor emeritus at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.

All classes are held in the Aidekman Arts Center on the Medford/Somerville campus on Mondays and Fridays from 10 a.m.-noon and from 1-3 p.m. During lunchtime, members share new ideas, socialize or enjoy presentations by members of the Tufts community.

In addition, TILR will begin a collaborative monthly book club with the Friends of Tisch Library on March 13 from 1-3 p.m.

TILR will also offer its first annual summer session June 3-6 with the theme "Through the Years...Decade Culture That Shaped Our Lives...The '30s, '40s, '50s and '60s."

For information or a program brochure, e-mail marilyn.blumsack@tufts.edu or call (617) 627-5885. The TILR office is located in 039 Carmichael Hall on the Medford/Somerville campus.
